DHS Accomplishments: Discovery Channel Airs Coast Guard Series A new 10-part series titled "SOS: Coast Guard Rescue," is airing on the Discovery Channel this month. The first two episodes of this prime time series feature dramatic rescues from Hurricane Katrina. The program highlights the Hurricane Katrina rescue operations in the Gulf Coast, as U.S. Coast Guard pilots, rescue swimmers, and flight mechanics battle their own fatigue, hunger, and physical injury to save as many lives as possible from the flooding and devastation. In addition, the series will feature U.S. Coast Guard responses to search and rescue and law enforcement cases.
